How to learn not to let problems overcome you

Surely you have noticed that being happy becomes a path full of obstacles called problems. Problems of different degrees of importance that, sometimes, surpass us and come to paralyze us. We want to learn that problems do not overcome us and they have told us some tricks.

Don’t let problems get the better of you

  1. We continually have problems. Everyone has problems, although we see some people who go through life without worries. But how do you take the problems? You can let them get the better of you and sink into a state that is in danger of crippling depression, or you can take action and view problems from the point of view of personal growth. A crisis is always an opportunity to grow and, therefore, we give you some advice so that problems do not overwhelm you:
  2. Give the problem the true importance it has. Many times we are faced with what we consider to be a major problem, while for those close to us it is just a minor setback. The problem is as big as each one feels it, so you should not try to minimize it following the opinion of others, or magnify it following the tonic of vital tremendousism.
  3. Consider the problem as a challenge and not as an obstacle. A problem does not appear on the path to hinder us, but rather so that we learn from it, or it may do so so that we change our path. In any case, seeing the problem as a challenge to overcome and not as a stop along the way will help us to enrich ourselves with the problem itself during all the time we spend overcoming it.
  4. Keep the path more in mind than the goal. It is clear that it is healthy to have short, medium and long-term goals and to have goals and dreams to pursue. What is not healthy is obsessing over reaching the goal. If we consider life as a path and problems as an inevitable part of that path, we will also learn to grow personally with each problem.
  5. The comfort zone and the problems. We fear problems because they take us out of our comfort zone. A problem is anything that hinders our plans or our perspective on life. What happens if we dare to face the problem and get out of the comfort zone? That we will have grown and learned a little more, and that perhaps we have discovered other ways to be happy.
  6. Disconnect. We must bear in mind that most problems are not solved in a moment, that they will be there for a while in our life, that is why it is convenient to disconnect for a few hours or a few days, because thinking about the problem continuously ends up obscuring any solution that we can find. Getting away from the problem, changing the scenery or changing the air will help us renew our strength to face it.
  7. Seek different supports. Discussing the problem with other people gives us different visions than the one we have. It is always easier to find solutions from a distance than from the burden that we are experiencing. And we need a broad and expanded vision, with different tones so as not to fall into unreal positivism or negativity.
