The astral chart is a diagram that astrologers use to study the planetary positions in comparison with the signs. The astral chart is built from the characteristics of the sky, among which is the situation of the signs and the astrological houses.

The astral chart is designed in a round shape and consists of concentric rings divided into 12 parts that reveal different elements. From this diagram you can discover the various relationships and triggers. The main elements that make up the astral chart are the signs, the houses and the planets.

Astral chart: The signs of the zodiac

These rings take into account the 12 signs of the zodiac, which are represented in the 12 equal segments on the outside of the circle. Your zodiac sign depends on where the sun was located at the time of your birth. In this way, these are the signs of the zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

There are many ways to classify the signs of the zodiac, but it is important to take into account the different polarities: the positive and the negative. These two polarities complement each other to form a complete union.
Signs of positive polarity: Includes the most active, extroverted, spontaneous signs, with the ability to adapt to changes and that are related to the masculine. These are the fire and air signs, that is, Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius.

Signs of negative polarity: Includes passive, reflective, sensitive, empathic signs and they are related to the feminine. These are the signs of earth and water, that is: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces.
On the other hand, the signs can also be classified according to their modality:
Cardinal signs: These are the ones that coincide with the start of a new season, which makes them signs with initiative. These are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.

Fixed signs: These are the ones that develop in the middle of the season, which makes them very stable signs. These are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
Mutable signs: These are the ones that occur at the end of a season, which makes people very flexible and spontaneous. These are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
The signs of the zodiac can also be divided into elements, which manifest themselves in a different way in each of them. The elements are:

Fire signs: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. They are full of energy, passion, strength and enthusiasm.
Earth sign: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. They are practical, seek stability and value material things.
Air signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. They are intelligent, diplomatic and logical.

Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. They are sentimental, intuitive and altruistic.

Birth chart: The houses

On the other hand, the design of the astral chart also shows 12 celestial houses in the form of unequal sectors that can vary according to the geographical point from which they are contemplated. The houses indicate the area of life in which the planet will manifest its energy, that is, the moment in which you will find yourself when it takes place. Each experience corresponds to a house and these depend on the exact time of your birth.

The ascendant indicates the beginning of the first house and the rest follow it counterclockwise. This means that the stars would first go through Aries, and their journey would continue through Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, etc. and they would reach Aries again and start again in a cyclical way. Also, each house has an opposite, for example, the opposite of the 1st house is the 7th house.

The houses go through the entire zodiac every 24 hours, which is how long it takes the Earth to complete its rotation, that is, to turn on its own axis. This supposes that the stars pass every day through all the houses, which marks the reading of the sky.
The houses can be classified by triangles, which correspond to the different elements of the zodiac signs, in this way:
Triangle of life: This corresponds to the fire element, that is, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, which, respectively, are related to the 1st, 5th and 9th houses.

Triangle of the material: This corresponds to the earth element, that is, Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn, which, respectively, are related to the 2nd, 6th and 10th houses.
Triangle of relationships: This corresponds to the air element, that is, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius, which, respectively, are related to the 3rd, 7th and 11th houses.
Karma Triangle: This corresponds to the water element, that is, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces which, respectively, are related to the 4th, 8th and 12th houses.

On the other hand, they can also be classified by squares, which corresponds to the modalities of the signs:
Angular Square: This is related to the cardinal quality, that is, with Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn (1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses).
Succeeding Square: This is related to the quality of the fixed ones, that is, with Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius (2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th houses).

Cadent Square: This is related to the quality of mutables, that is, with Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces (3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th houses).

Birth chart: The planets

Finally, to understand the astral chart, the situation of the planets must be taken into account. When the word ‘planet’ is used in astrology, the Sun and the Moon, among others, are also included. In this way, the planets that the birth chart takes into account are: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn. They represent the different ways of being typical of the human being and in which we can all see ourselves reflected to a greater or lesser extent. They can be classified into these three groups:

Personal planets: They are those that move faster and reflect the way of being of the signs of the zodiac. These are: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars.

Social planets: They are those that link each one with the situation that surrounds them. These are: Jupiter and Saturn.
Spiritual planets: They are those that move slower and influence change and intuition. These are: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These planets are not taken into account in traditional astrology.
On the other hand, when the planets move through the different signs, they are related in a different way to each one. This gives rise to the planetary dignities that are as follows:

Domiciliation: It occurs when a planet has a nature similar to the sign in which it is found, which reproduces with great power and energy. It is, for example, what happens to Mars when it is located in Aries.
Exaltation: It occurs when the planet and the sign form a stable union but it is not maximum. It is, for example, what happens to the Sun when it is located in Aries.
Exile: It occurs when the planet is located in an opposite sign. It is, for example, what happens to Venus when it is located in Aries.

Fall: I know when the relationship between the planet and the sign is not good, but it is not the worst either. This is, for example, what happens when Saturn is in Aries.
Term: It occurs when the signs are divided into five different parts but that all their degrees always add up to 30 degrees
Triplicity: Taking into account the different elements (fire, earth, air and water) and the modality (cardinal, fixed and mutable) the planet changes. In each of these categories, there is a day ruler and a night ruler.

Decan: It is divided into 36 sections of 10 degrees each, which means that each zodiac sign is made up of 3. The planets govern each of the decans starting with Aries and following the following order: Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn and Jupiter. In this way, Aries would be formed by the decan ruled by Mars, the second by the Sun and the third by Venus. Then Taurus would go, which would be made up of the decan ruled by Mercury, then Luna and finally Saturn.
Dodecatemories: Each sign is divided into 12 parts of 2.5 degrees and the planets are distributed.

How to interpret the birth chart?

There are many ways to interpret the birth chart and, in fact, there are different astrological currents that understand this map of the sky in a different way. These different approaches include those who consider that our destiny is completely determined without giving any possibility to free will and also those who consider that the planets make you prone to something, but do not force you to do anything.

To interpret a letter, you must take into account:
The place that the planets occupy in the signs.
The place that the planets occupy in the houses.

The relationships that are created between the planets and the places of interest in the chart
The distribution by elements, polarities, modalities and hemispheres

As the planets pass through each of the segments of each sign, they are infected with their energy and way of being. On the other hand, the house with which it coincides indicates the moment of life in which you will be infected with that energy of each sign. In addition, it must be taken into account that each star has its own personality that makes it modify its behavior, the house in which it is located and its relationship with other planets.

In this way, first of all we will take into account the relationship of the planet with the sign through which it passes. For example, Mars feels very comfortable in Aries, Taurus in Venus, Gemini in Mercury, or Cancer in the Moon. However, Mars will not be able to feel at ease in Libra, just like Venus in Scorpio or the Moon in Capricorn.

Secondly, to know when this energy will be given, one must take into account the house in which it takes place, that is, the area of life. Finally, the astral chart also shows how the relationships between the planets are (harmonious or tense) through the aspects, which are represented by colored lines.
